Car Views - Dusty Delhi & NCR

Summers in Delhi is fun..especially now that Delhi is become NCR..saw a few sights which ensured that I made good use of the camera on my mobile phone and thought let me share here for whoever is interested. This is the continuation of the earlier stuff tht I had put up..the little known sights of Delhi / India
Some of this stuff is from sites of Gurgaon too..

Yes you guessed this right. These were a bunch of donkeys on busy road. I had parked on the side to take a call when I noticed them..yeah right...I do tend to notice a lot of donkeys in this world LOL. but these chappies were pretty intelligent..they waited for the traffic to thin down...crossed the road...and actually trotted on the sidewalk..Dont know how many of us have this civic sense in us :-). Next time I hope I see pigs..they are too found in abundance here :-)

Dulhan Dahej Hai - The bride is the Dowry
Now thats a good social message on the dowry system. Its a crime to take Dowry by the way

Machine ka Tandha Paani - Cold water from a Machine
This used to be available for 5 paise a glass now the rates have shot up to a rupee. In summers in Delhi one gets to see these "machines" which use a simple pump mechanism to pump out water in a glass. A boon to all travellers. Sometimes if one is lucky the vendor may also have some lemons and give you an outta this world lemonade.

On the way to Office..towards Gurgaon, Haryana
Well..Thats the "Ship Building" on the right hand side
which is just kind of visible on a dusty morning.
There...now can see the building a little bit more clearly

Dust in Delhi is brought about by an onslaught of wind ...hot wind..called locally as Loo. Dont confuse it with the word Loo used for the toilets..if you do..trust me the experience may not be well liked by you and the people around you..as the delhi Loo is hot and furious.

well now me gotta go..and shut all doors and windows..as the winds have started again

It's a jungle out there!!

Thought of sharing one of the songs I kind of liked. Its does reflect the world we live in..

It's a jungle out there

Disorder and confusion everywhere
No one seems to care
Well I do
Hey, who's in charge here?
It's a jungle out there
Poison in the very air we breathe
Do you know what's in the water that you drink?
Well I do, and it's amazing
People think I'm crazy, 'cause I worry all the time
If you paid attention, you'd be worried too
You better pay attention
Or this world we love so much might just kill you
I could be wrong now, but I don't think so!
'Cause there's a jungle out there.
It's a jungle out there.

A moment in time

New York Times online did a photoblog on May 2nd 2010. A very brilliant concept. People across the world were to click a photograph @ 2030 hrs, whereever they were at that time and upload. This was called A Moment in Time

One should look at the moments captured by people across the world. Something billiant.

the real you?

some thoughts...

who is the real you? the one which you portray on all your social network sites, your blogs or the one you talk to when you sit with yourself and introspect..now thats a question thats kind of haunting me now...who does one believe? the line between reality and virtual is getting blurred...so blurred that one sometimes becomes "patholigical believer" in ones own online avtaar. yes, agreed, sometime it is good..an introvert would suddenly become an extrovert, a sad man..a happy man and the likes. But where does that leave one? living in a surreal world of perception where reality is nothing but a click of a mouse and a keyboard?

Social media today seems to have taken over everyones life...taken over everyones life so much that one is so addicted that he has to tweet and check his page on facebook or orkut or wherever every second of the day..once upon a time it was mail, then came the blackberry and now twitter, facebook, mysoace and what not.

Who controls who here? does the technology control us or do we control tech? who are you really friends with? the virtual identities of your friends list on any SNS or the eal them...

personal and professional life is now the same...refernce checks are done looking at ones profile on FB and looking at the messages there conclusions are drawn..right or wrong ..no one knows. does one find the real you when doing these checks?

who is really the real you? one wears a lot of masks the same way they wear a lot of hats! which mask one wears usually depends on who he is meeting face to face. wearing a mask does become necessary..biut online which is the mask one wears..is it one or many all at the same time..leaving the person confused...leaving others confused?

who is the real you?
